What happens when three fearless, innovative virtuosos put their minds and hearts together to make music? The result is a breathtaking concert that will have your pulse pounding, feet tapping, and your mind expanding in ways you didn’t expect.
Making her second festival appearance, harpist Bridget Kibbey has already formed an international reputation for expanding the possibilities of her instrument. Along with appearing at prestigious festivals everywhere, she has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras and has commissioned ground-breaking new works for the harp.
“A performer in a league of his own” (Los Angeles Times), clarinetist Benito Meza is a Grammy-nominated artist who has appeared as soloist with countless orchestras. Originally from Colombia, he came up through the world-famous music education program, El Sistema, and was a member of the celebrated Simón Bolívar Youth Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela.
Samuel Torres transcends the conventional definition of a percussionist. Along with being a music director, he is a celebrated composer and has performed or recorded with artists such as Tito Puente, Chick Corea, Paquito D’Rivera, and Shakira as well as numerous classical orchestras around the world.
These three musicians will present a program of original arrangements that defy musical categories.
